Living Room Love

15 Feb

I never ever want a living room that is prim and proper and the only thing missing is plastic coverings on the couch. To me, a living room should be cozy, warm, and inviting. It is for curling up on the couch and watching TV, cuddling with your pet or your sweetheart, or entertaining guests over wine. For me there are a couple things that help you to accomplish that feeling:

1. Pillows and throw blankets. They dress up and bring life to a drab couch! They are a great way to incorporate your secondary colours into the room.

2. Flowers. Nothing fancy (or even real!) – but it adds a nice touch and feminine flair.

3. Candles. Candles. And more candles! They can be used as decoration lit or unlit, and leave a room smelling divine. I personally prefer white candles on candlesticks of uneven heights.

4. A coffee table box. There are so many things you can do with a coffee table box! You can add the candles or flowers, some coffee table books, use it as a place to put your remotes.

5. Last but not least – a rug. Rugs can be a little on the pricey side depending on the size, but it really is a great investment if you have hardwood floors. A rug can tie together your TV stand, coffee table, and couch like nothing else. I like the ones that are a little longer and fluffy, but you can always take a walk on the wild side and get a really funky carpet that pops.

These living rooms (yes, you guessed it – Pinterest!) just make me wanna happy dance all the way to Ikea!

So cozy and comfy. Notice the pillows, blankets, candles, flowers…

Great coffee table arrangement. I love all the colours!
