Say Sangria!

17 Mar

I consider myself a sangria connoisseur. I loooooove all aspects of sangria from making it to devouring it. In my opinion, no summer party is complete without a pitcher (or 3) of sangria!

Here are my favourite recipes!

Peach Sangria (via

A peach-twist on the standard sangria

1 (750-milliliter) bottle rosé wine
3/4 cup vodka* (peach flavoured preferably)
1/2 cup peach nectar
6 tablespoons thawed frozen lemonade concentrate
2 tablespoons sugar
1 pound ripe peaches, peeled and sliced
1 (6-oz.) package fresh raspberries (or 1 cup frozen raspberries)
2 cups club soda, chilled

1. Combine first 5 ingredients in a pitcher; stir until sugar is dissolved. Stir in peaches and raspberries. Cover and chill 8 hours.

2. Stir in chilled club soda just before serving.

Light & Fresh Sangria (via

This sangria isn’t as sweet, and features mint and orange liqueur

8 large mint leaves
1 (750-milliter) bottle sparkling wine, chilled
3/4 cup white grape juice, chilled
1/2 cup sliced fresh strawberries
1/4 cup orange liqueur
Garnish: fresh sugar cane sticks

1. Press mint leaves against sides of a large pitcher with back of a wooden spoon to release flavors. Stir in sparkling wine and next 3 ingredients. Serve immediately over ice. Garnish, if desired.

Mexican Sangria (via

A sweet, bold version

3 cups sugar
2 1/2 cups fresh lime juice
12 cups water
1 (1-liter) bottle sparkling water
1 (750-milliliter) bottle dry red wine
Garnishes: lime and kumquat slices

Stir together sugar and fresh lime juice in a large punch bowl until sugar is dissolved. Stir in water, sparkling water, and wine. Serve over ice.

Citrus Sangria (via

Simple and tasty!

2 (750-milliliter) bottles white Zinfandel
4 cups white grape juice
1 sliced orange, lemon, and lime

Combine Zinfandel and grape juice. Stir in sliced orange, lemon, and lime. Chill 4 hours. Serve over ice.

Happy chugging sipping!
